After a few days away in Sussex, was amazed at the transformation that’d taken place in the Cornish hedgerows just over the weekend – hawthorn bushes are now more flower than foliage and the elders finally in bloom. Can’t wait to get out and pick a few flowers to make elderflower bubbly, you’d hardly believe that something so easy to make could be so tasty!
This month have a few exciting but important dates/swaps for your diaries…
For June only, our main get-together moves to the 4th Sunday (June 23rd) with the usual 3rd Sunday slot (this coming Sunday 16th June) morphing into our reccie walk to test out a route. Slots will returning to normal (1st/3rd Sundays of the month) again in July ..apologies for any confusion, hope that makes some sense! It’s worth it though, for all the faff, you’ve got a really special green walk to look forward to this month..
The June green walk special, Sunday 23rd – walk the legend of Tristen and Yseult…
This month we’re linking up once more with Kneehigh word witch Anna Maria Murphy as well as local poet Pol Hodge to put on an exclusive walk for the people of Truro. Follow the story cart for a magical meander along Truro River with songs, poems and love letters from Kneehigh’s production of Tristan & Yseult, showing at the Hall for Cornwall at the end of the month.
Different date but same time and place 2pm outside Truro Cathedral, back for 4pm. Event: FREE! Dress sensibly. All welcome.
Do hope you can make it, I can’t wait!!
